Same As Sister (S.A.S.) will be offering a choreography intensive, Reimagining Madness Through Reenactment, for BIPOC participants with a lived experience of mental illness as part of Workman Arts’ Winter 2024 Course Catalogue at The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
Co-facilitated with disability arts advisor Rachel da Silveira Gorman and inspired by research for Upstairs, In Our Bedroom, the intensive will explore the intersections of race, madness, and choreography within the framework of reenactment. Participants will learn material from S.A.S.'s larger body of work, in addition to creating their own movement phrases based on these themes.
